2014 NFL Draft - Round 6 - Fantasy Football Impact

Let's take a look at the offensive Fantasy Football impact of the 6th round in the NFL draft. This round brought a bunch of flyers, especially at QB, to keep on your radar.

Zach Mettenberger  - QB - LSU - The former Tiger is now a Titan, and could get his shot early in his career, but he is dealing with some injury and substance issues. He'll be available late in dynasty fantasy drafts but could be worth the roster spot due to the Titans QB situation.

Alfred Blue  - RB - LSU - Another LSU alum, Blue was selected by Houston, and will surely be buried on the Texans depth charts. If he shows flashes, especially with his pass-catching out of the backfield, he could earn some touches in the long run. He'll be available as a flyer late in dynasty fantasy drafts.

David Fales  - QB - San Jose State - This San Jose State Stud is an opposite type of player to Jay Cutler in Chicago. He cycles through his progressions and takes what he can get, but lacks the arm strength to gun it into tight windows. Fales will compete for backup duties, and with Cutler's injury issues, may be a handcuff option so keep an eye on if he earns the backup job for the Bears. He'll likely be a free agent in Dynasty this year.

Robert Herron  - WR - Wyoming - The Wyoming receiver will now be working with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, trying to find a spot as a slot man.  He's 5'9", 190 pounds, and can fly. Expect him to fight for a chance early in his career. Expect him to go in the 4th or 5th round.

Lache Seastrunk  - RB - Baylor - Probably the most highly rated 6th rounder (fantasy football wise) this year, the ex-Baylor Bear will compete in the Washington Redskins backfield. He was a Top 5 overall prospect as a Texas prep after rushing for 4,217 yards and scoring 52 total touchdowns before heading to Baylor. Seastrunk may earn the backup spot in DC, so expect 3rd Round ADP in dynasty rookie Fantasy drafts.

T. J. Jones  - WR - Notre Dame - The former Fighting Irish stud was selected into a nice situation in Detroit. He is a polished receiver and will compete for the 3rd-6th WR spot with the Lions. Expect him to be available late in most rookie fantasy dynasty drafts.

Matt Hazel  - WR - Coastal Carolina - The Coastal Carolina man has his chance to work for the Miami Dolphins. Hazel has skills to eventually contribute, but we don't see much from him anytime soon. He'll be a free agent in 2014.

Keith Wenning  - QB - Ball State - The Ball State Cardinals alum will now be wearing a Ravens Jersey. Wenning has been a winner for a long time, which is a good reason why Baltimore likes him, but we think his skills translate to a backup QB at best. Free Agency is where you'll find him in 2014.

Walt Powell  - WR - Murray State - Powell was picked by the Arizona Cardinals and will fight for a roster spot. Powell showed excellent skills at his pro day, but we don't expect him to take off in the NFL. He'll be a free agent in fantasy football dynasty leagues.

Marion Grice  - RB - Arizona State - The former Sun Devils star was selected to stay out west, moving to San Diego. The Chargers have a full backfield at the moment, but with Mathews' and Brown's injury issues, and Woodhead's size, it wouldn't surprise us if he got some PT sometime this year. Grice should be a 4th-5th round selection in 2014 dynasty rookie drafts.

Tyler Gaffney  - RB - Stanford - The Stanford Stud played baseball and football in his days on campus, and played both very well. He is a strong runner, who fits the Carolina Panthers scheme, but unfortunately, Carolina has many other backs ahead of him on the depth chart. He'll be a late round pick in dynasty rookie drafts with good upside long term.

Quincy Enunwa  - WR - Nebraska - The ex-Cornhusker will be headed to the big apple to play for the New York Jets.  We love this guys size, and working as a Jets wide-out may give him some opportunities early. He is a flyer option, and will be available late in most dynasty fantasy rookie drafts.

Tajh Boyd  - QB - Clemson - The former Clemson QB will now compete for the Jets in New York. Boyd has the ability to sling the ball and he put on a show at his pro day. If Geno Smith struggles again this year, Boyd could get a chance in 2015 or 2016. Keep tabs on him as he'll be a free agent in 2014.

Garrett Gilbert  - QB - SMU - Garrett Gilbert was selected by the St. Louis Rams to compete for backup duties with Shaun Hill and Austin Davis. Gilbert is a large man, and was highly recruited out of High School, so it wouldn't surprise us if he made the cut. Don't expect much from him unless there is an emergency for the Rams.  Gilbert will be a free agent in dynasty fantasy football.
